in Multi-Directional Applications'

The Conference  under the Honorary Patronage of the Minister of Economy

 

How can one influence pro-ecological consumers' attitudes, how to show the producers, merchants and final recipients the advantages following from natural fibre application? How do new technological capacities broaden the range of applications of natural fibre?. These, and many other questions were answered by the 10th International Cotton Conference.

 

Generally, in the course of the Conference deliberations, the lecturers from 4 countries presented 16 papers, whereas at the poster session, there were 12 posters presented, dealing with new textile technologies for natural fibres (for titles and names – see the Programme).

tried to join in the meeting formula the commercial topics and forecasts for development of textile – clothing industry in Poland and in the world with the scientific-technical themes – including new processing trends and technologies as well as new applications of traditional fibres, and meaning of natural fibres in promotion of ecological attitudes among consumers and producers, related to their usage on the fashion market.

 

The Conference was attended by the representatives of the processing sector and commercial circles, scientific-research institutions and branch organisations of textile sector from 6 countries as well as fashion designers and students of clothing departments of Polish textile universities.

 

 

 

 

2009 was announced the International Year of Natural Fibres, so, to celebrate this event the following fashion collections made of natural fibres were presented during the Conference:

  • collections prepared by the students of Clothing Department, Fashion University and Clothing Scientific Club of Students of the Technical University Łódź.
  • author's collection from the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants in Poznań, designed by Jola Załecka..
