This year, the Conference with its theme is set in the programme of celebrations of the International Year of Natural Fibres 2009. As usual, we expect that it will gather representatives of the international business and science - from scientific and research institutes and from companies dealing in the textile-clothing sector, including the cotton one.

Lectures and presentations prepared for the Conference shall touch both, upon economical and trading as well as scientific issues. Among the presented issues you will find:

  • description of the global cotton market, trends and prospects for its development,
  • presentation of promotion possibilities of natural raw materials and derived products - with the example of excellent American models (CCI,  Fashion Institute of Technology in N.Y.),
  • presentation of activities of the Polish government, aimed at supporting the textile-clothing sector as well as inventive ideas of the companies themselves, pertaining to textile industry promotion,
  • Eco-trends in apparel designing,
  •  possibilities of naturally coloured cotton application.

 

Moreover, we shall present a wide range of issues - from fibre and yarn quality analyses, through treatment methods and latest trends of material engineering in the field of natural fibres application, to forecasted directions of development of the textile industry - taking into account the usage of natural fibres.

     

    Companies' presentations:

    Companies which are interested in participation are invited to present their technical achievements, on exhibition stands or in the poster form - the form of presentation is to be fixed with the Conference organisers.

    General information

    International Cotton Conferences in Gdynia, have been being organised in the bi-annual cycle since 1988, alternatively to the cotton conferences organised in Bremen by the Faserinstitut Bremen and Bremen Cotton Exchange.  Every time, Conference themes are dedicated to selected problems of cotton and cotton-like fibres testing, turnover, and processing.
