On 28 March this year, the new official Uzbek standards for medium-staple Uzbek cotton were received in the Gdynia Cotton Association. They were prepared by the Uzbek Centre for Certification of Cotton Fibre (SIFAT) in Tashkent and were passed to the GCA with the mediation of the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations of Uzbekistan. From the information obtained from SIFAT, it follows that these are the only valid and up-to-date Uzbek arbitration standards in Europe. Presentation of the new standards and comparing them to the previous ones possessed by the GCA will be made by the Committee for Fixing the Value Differences and the participants of experts', classers' and laboratory managers' meeting on 19 - 20 April 2006, in the GCA Cotton House.
